The kingfisher's scientific name is Alcedinidae. The kingfisher's higher classification is Kingfishers. The mass of belted kingfisher is 150 gram. Common kingfisher mass is 31 gram. The length of belted kingfisher is 33 centimeter. Common kingfisher length is 17 centimeter. pied kingfisher length is 25 – 29 centimeter, and White-throated kingfisher length is 19 – 21 centimeter. India has 12 species of kingfisher.

The African dwarf kingfisher is the smallest species, it is 10 centimeter in length and 9 – 12 gram in weight. The giant kingfisher is the largest species in Africa, it is 42 – 46 centimeter in length and 255 – 426 gram in weight. The laughing kookaburra is the heaviest in Australia, it is 500 grams in weight and 43 centimeters long. The Kingfisher has eaten in the fish, crayfish, frogs, and snails. Kingfishers are bright-colored they eat fish for their food. They are life in rivers or lakes. The Kingfishers are live in 20 years. Their wingspan was up to 2 feet long. Their incubation period is 2 to 4 weeks. The kingfishers are different colors Brown, Yellow, Red, Blue, Black, Green, and Orange. The kingfisher's top speed is 25 mph.

Does the Kingfisher Make an honest Pet. As an entire, kingfishers don't observe pets. they're wild birds, and most species aren't tame or friendly in any way. In many places, it's illegal to have a kingfisher as a pet. A kingfisher may be a very lucky bird. Kingfisher usually fly straight and fast, a couple of feet above the water. Kingfishers are active all day, but the simplest time of day to identify them round the ponds is very first thing within the morning, they have a tendency to travel onto the river if there are tons of individuals about. The less shrubs and trees around, the more chance you've got of attracting these birds to your garden. Kingfishers make burrows in sandy riverbanks. The burrow consists of a horizontal tunnel with a nesting chamber at the top and are usually a few meter long. The feminine lays about 5 or 7 white, glossy eggs but sometimes will disable to 10 eggs. The Kingfisher stands for peace and prosperity. It is connected with Jupiter which may be a symbol for abundance and wealth. A kingfisher may be a symbol of fertile harvest and luck. If we expect we are attracting negative things in life, a kingfisher can change our fortune for the higher. Kingfishers prey on a good sort of prey. They’re found by still or slow flowing water like lakes, canals and rivers in lowland areas. It fast and direct flying, but it's also ready to hover above the water when it searches and collects food. Kingfisher may be a carnivore. Its diet is predicated on the fish, crayfish, frogs and snails.

The plumage of most kingfishers is bright, with green and blue being the foremost common colors. The brightness of the colors is neither the merchandise of iridescence or pigments, but is instead caused by the structure of the feathers, which causes scattering of blue light. The bill is typically longer and more compressed in species that hunt fish, and shorter and broader in species that hunt prey off the bottom. They typically have short legs, although species that prey on the bottom have longer tarsi. They need restricted movement of their eyes within the attention sockets, instead using head movements to trace prey. Additionally, they're capable of compensating for the refraction of water and reflection when hunting prey underwater, and are ready to judge depth under water accurately.
